Edie's "Stuff To-Do" List in-process... FYI, from Edie, The Salsa FREAK I'm slowly but SURELY finishing up my Euro-Tour writeups. I still have to complete loading up all the pics...please be patient, and bare with me... New York was incredible. Boston was amazing, Washington DC was a ton of fun... Curacao is a BLAST... I'll be writing about all this, and starting back with my Dear Edie column and Tip-of-the-Month column again tonight... I FINALLY met Sammy, our Washington DC World Correspondent, for about TWO MINUTES before we caught the train back to Manhattan last week. He had to work, so we didn't get to much time to really say or do anything. So much emotions and feelings flew by when I looked into his eyes for the brief few seconds we saw either other as I was running late to hop on our train. Sammy and I have been through a lot together, over email and telephone, and I just felt like crying with joy when I saw him. It's funny how close people can get over the internet... I fewel like I've known him forever... the world is getting so much smaller, yet we're all still so far away...I'm coming back to DC in April Sammy. "We'll get together then...you know we'll get together then..." | I just got back from the beautiful island of Curaçao on Sunday, after a brief stop in Miami with our cityguides World Correspondent, Jacira Castro who is a wonderful lady and friend. I met with Gal from Salsa Lovers Dance Studio, and a few other Salseros, like Evans Raveneau (great dancer!), Debbie Ohanian from the Starfish, in Miami who are real Salsa-Holics! Hopefully I'll be seeing them all again very soon. While on the island with Muriel, I'm listening to this KILLER CD called Afro Cuban All Stars "A Toda Cuba le Gusta" WOW!!! WHAT A GREAT CD!!! Slamming Salsa, Guaracha, Son Afro, Son, Guaguanco... all that! Another fabulous CD set she has is called the Buena Vista social Club, with Ruben Gonzalez and Eliades Ochoa, Ry Cooder, et al... I'm totally being spoiled by Muriel and everyone else here! I'm re-working and writing everything, one step at a time right now (as we speak - careful, don't fall off your CHAIR... ) so the pics won't be up yet (sorry, Ari, just two more weeks! Hang in there!) I'll be back home on the 28th of November, so emails and responding to everyone's emails will be VERY SLOW... I'm still getting over a hundred emails per day... down from almost 200 per day before our Salsa Tour throughout Europe. Guys, stop emailing me jokes, chain letters, commercial stuff I'm not interested in, get-rich quick stuff, marriage proposals... - just stick to the super important, life-or death info, at least until after December. K? .;) |
