The Ripple Effects of Teaching;
You Just Never Know…

I was just about ready to take a dip in a very calm, deep swimming pool tonight. The water was absolutely still. It was so smooth, if I didn’t know it was a pool, I would have mistaken it for a large piece of glass.
I dipped my big toe inside the water, and noticed the ripple effects starting to take place. The circular waves slowly emanated from my toe. I then splashed my toe around a bit. The waves started to ripple throughout the entire pool, and I watched as the circles grew bigger, and bigger.
Realizing it was a bit too cold for my tastes, I got out, put my towel on, and for the next 20 minutes, sat staring at the growing water ripples emanating throughout the entire pool. They reached the other end, then bounced off the walls, and counteracted each other. They then hit the other sides again, and started working toward the center. The water was softly moving and flowing with huge ripples, beautifully glowing and flickering with the light.
The entire pool was now pulsating with movement. Like luminous diamonds, the lights glimmered throughout the entire patio. The ambiance was now a spectacular showcase of moving light.
All that, from my big toe.
Teachers, you have more influence than you think. You’ll never know just how much your light will shine and impact the rest of the world.
