Right Hip Pain Dilemma in the Salsa Scene…

By Edie, The Salsa FREAK

Many of you may have read my article about the epidemic of right hip problems happening to women in the Salsa scene.  It is because of the preparation step or stance prior to a powerful double, triple or more right spin.  For some women, the pain is in the left, possibly due to a faulty left turn prep, however, the majority of women who are experiencing this pain are feeling it on the right hip and back thigh.

For the past year, not only have I been researching this problem, but I have experienced it first-hand as well.  I’ve spoken to some of the top female performers from all over the world, and we have found the solution – without surgery or drugs!

I’ve tried it myself, and have found the pain has subsided immensely, and I have been having less and less trouble falling asleep without waking up in excruciating pain.

This is how I fixed myself:

Changing the way I prep prior to a spin.

When I prep to the left to spin to the right, I make sure both of my toes are pointed in the exact same direction as my hips – especially my right foot.  This slight variation in the preparation has worked wonders.  The most difficult part is actually mentally remembering to do this EVERY SINGLE TIME you turn!

Rubbing (Methylsulponylmethane) MSM Lotion directly on the pain.

I found this great stuff on the Internet called Liposome Lotion.  You can get it anywhere in any health food store or website.

Improved my diet.

I’ve included more green juices in my diet, which detoxifies the body and cleans it out.  Red juices rejuvenate my system.   The juices themselves go inside the folds and nooks and crannies of the intestine – more so than the vegetable or the fruit itself.  Juices are more readily absorbed within the walls of the intestinal tract.  I also eliminated any and all products from cows – especially from the USA.  This, along with my exercise and diet program to stay healthy, I will explain in more detail in my next newsletter.
