A Survival Guide to Relationships in the Dance Scene

OK, by now I think I’ve just about seen (or at least read about it) all.  Being the Editor-in-Chief of the World’s Largest Latin Entertainment online magazine, Salsaweb.com, Inc. and bearing the name “The Salsa FREAK”, has earned me a certain amount of respect and trust from thousands of readers all over the world.  Why?  I wear my heart on my sleeve, air out dirty laundry on occasion, and don’t hesitate to write about it.  I write what I feel, only to find out that it’s what others are feeling as well.

For this reason, many readers have written me very personal and intimate questions about their relationships, both in and out of the dance scene.  Most of the letters are far too intimate, complex, or shocking to post on Salsaweb.com, so in most cases, I act as a “listener” simply learning from their experiences and what they’re going through.  Although I run a popular Advice Column on Salsaweb.com called “Dear Edie…”, my advice can only extend to what most people can take, and consider “normal”.  The more complex and intimate letters will remain forever a secret, both to the anonymous sender, and myself.

Most of the anonymous questions are relationship-oriented, and very personal.  I read, listen, and sometimes break out into tears hearing about what some people have gone through.  Everyone has a story to tell, of heartaches, and heartbreaks.  It's a rarity to run across a letter of warmth and romance, love, and happiness together, forever and ever.
