Seaon Bristol The Perfectionist, the "Stylist". Attitude, Grace, and Absolute Control on the Dance Floor. This mans got it down
leading, OR following!
Interview By Edie, The Salsa FREAK Seaon (pronounced 'seee - on') was pointed out to me at the 1st Annual International Salsaweb Convention in Washington DC in 1999. He was dancing up a storm with world-famous instructor Nelson Flores of New York. Nelson had told me about him a few months earlier, so I was fascinated to find out who this man was, and especially, watch him dance. The first thing you notice about Seaon is his sharpness and refined style. The second thing you notice, is that his partner is a man. Seaon is one of a kind. Hes one of the smoothest and sharpest followers in the world. His acute awareness and sensitivity to every lead stems from his professional dance training from New York. Formerly with the Razz M Tazz and Eddie Torres Dance Companies, Seaon has now moved to Los Angeles to start his career teaching Mambo "On Two" and starting his own SeanStylist Dance Company (www.seanstylist.com). As an instructor, he is excellent - very thorough and patient. The added benefit of taking a class with him is you get to learn both female and male styling! After winning second place with his partner Jay in front of thousands of screaming Salsa fans at the 1999 Hollywood Bowl Professional Salsa Competition, Seaon has definitely made a mark in Tinsel Town. Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing Seaon Bristol, The Perfectionist, The "Stylist". Click Here for full interview...

| | Salsaweb Music!!! Salsaweb welcomes George Rivera, and his team of INCREDIBLE music reviewers and writers to the new SALSAWEB MUSIC section!! Click Here for an Exclusive Interview with Mr. George Rivera... La Clave 101 ... George Rivera, Salsaweb Music's Editor-In-Chief has written an OUTSTANDING educational piece on Clavé... Here's how people are responding to "La Clave 101":
Mr. Rivera, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this series that you are doing as an introduction to Salsa.
Why?
Let me explain it this way: One day I heard a song called "Patria" by Ruben Blades. Now, I don't speak a word of Spanish, but I swear to you that I "understood" what Mr. Blades was saying. When the song was over, I was shocked to find wetness on my face. Yes, I was crying.....a cynical, professional, world weary, African-American woman of the nineties like me was crying like a baby!
I was now confused and angry........confused because I've heard music like this before and it never affected me like that and angry because now there was a void in my life that demanded to be filled. It refused to be ignored.
Now I know why I was feeling like I had "come home". This music IS a part of me. And contrary to what the media would like the public to think, it does not belong to one group. The beauty and the passion of this music can be shared by all......we just need to listen with our hearts; not our ears.
Again, thank you. I am really looking forward to the rest of the salsa series.
Thank you. - Tracey Moore

Excellent column on "La Clave 101"! Good job. Yours truly, - Joe Manich

Dear George, I would like to commend you on your article, La Clave 101: An introduction to Salsa. You inform without condescension. Far too often, others enter this circle without knowing its backgroud. El español + la africana + una gota del indio (para posteridad) = los latinos. I think the solid historical foundation that you lay will help everyone respect this beautiful music and culture on another level. By all means, keep up the good work. Can't wait for round 2! (We've finally found someone who knows what they're talking about.) Sincerely, - Alejandro Reynaldo Poullard Ureña
