Dance Movies...... I'm collecting information on Dance Films coming up! Yo Soy, Del Son A La Salsa, Shall We Dance? Wherever in your town shows the art and foreign films will probably have it. I am in the media so Isaw it a few months ago. IF you are in a little town where it is not shown you will just have to wait for it on video in about six months or so. It just got an honorable mention at the Seattle Film Festival by the way. So sorry I can't be more help, just look out for it under the name "Shall We Dance" I think it was actually released in Japan with that title. or actually "Shall we Danzu" if I remember. Anyway keep dancing - Aaron Just spreading the word to all dancers, I saw an advanced screening of a great film called "Shall We Dance" yesterday. It takes place in Japan. Basically about a business man who is in a sort of mid-life crisis. He becomes intrigued by a melancholy woman he sees staring out a window from his train on his commute home everyday. She is a ballroom dance instructor and he starts taking lessons at her hall to get closer to her. If you have seen Tampopo, the gangster in the white suit from that film is the star of this one. As a non-dancer he actually doesn't do that shabby a job in the competitive scenes. Anyway things go from there, and it is a fascinating story, with lots of ballroom dancing in it. Good film for everybody, but I think dancers will understand its messages even clearer, and there are a few jokes that only I got in the room full of stodgy movie reviewers.
