Dear Edie:
This is Thomas Guerrero from Santo Rico Dance Co. in New York. I met you  at "Bistro Latino" and exchanged business cards with you. I'm E-mailing  you to let you know that I really enjoyed speaking and dancing with you.  Thank you so much for recommending that I interview with Salsaweb Magazine  via Manny here in New York. I'm looking forward to the opportunity.

Thanks again Edie. I really hope to see you soon someday possibly in California.

Sincerely,

F. Thomas Guerrero

P.S. Please say hello to all the West Coast dancers and tell them that it was really a pleasure and a lot of fun watching them dance.

Dear Thomas,
It was a pleasure meeting you as well. You are a fabulous dancer, and I loved your Dance troop. Spectacular. It's great what you're doing with the kids. I really admire your hard work. It truly showed through them. Most of all, I loved your attitude, and theirs. You should be very proud of your kids. They're awesome.

Getting in touch with me is rather difficult - you caught me at a good time. I just got back from the island of Curacao, and I'll be in Israel the first part of December, and Colorado the latter half, promoting and reviewing the Salsa scenes. Wherever I am, I'll make sure and put in a good word for your dance company to various promoters throughout the world.

Have you scheduled an interview with Manny yet? I'm cc'ing him on this email about it. Be patient however, he is an extremely busy man, and does interviews and reviews strictly on a volunteer basis. He's a tremendous asset to the site, to New York, and to the world of Salsa, and so are you! When Manny gets to your interview, possibly sometime early next year, I can't wait to read it.

Take care, and yes, hopefully we'll meet again very soon.
- Sincerely,

Edie Lewis

Hello Edie,
I'm delighted at your wonderful reply to my E-mail! Thank you, thank you and thank you so much again for being so attentive and kind toward me and my kids. My student Tomas, who you pulled to dance and who initially refused to dance with you because he was so nervous, said he really enjoyed dancing with you. He said, and I agreed with him 100%, that dancing with you was great because you are smooth and charismatic on the dance floor and it loosened him up for his performance that night. I guess you went easy on him and didn't intimidate him.

Furthermore, I'm really grateful of your comments about my dance company. It's really encouraging to know that we impressed someone of your stature. I'm glad you enjoyed the show and yes, I am extremely proud of the kids for their relentlessness to be the best. These kids really worked hard at this and took a lot of pride in preparing for that show and, needless to say, so much was riding against them barring the fact that it was officially their first performance and it was at a place where there were so many professional dancers present. It took a lot of encouraging and motivational talks with them to achieve this fete, but thank God they pulled through. They've also been invited to perform in several other places since then so they've been pretty busy and lucky at that.

I'm also very happy to hear that you're travelling the world to put our art on the map. I can't begin to describe the admiration I have for what you're doing because aside from just going out there and dancing/performing, the political aspect of this fascinating business needs to be addressed as well and we as entertainers and business people need to raise our stock and demand via effective public relations. I feel that if we unite and expand, together we will gain the respect that we deserve for our dedication and loyalty to Mambo/Salsa. I've always believed that a union for Mambo/Salsa dancers would definitely prove successful, and I hope that someday this will be achieved. I hope you have a wonderful time. Dance one for me. Go get 'em girl!

As far as Manny goes, yes I've E-mailed him and thanked him for considering to give me the opportunity of being a part of Salsaweb. I don't know Manny personally, I only know of him and we've briefly exchanged pleasantries on occasion, but I've heard he's the consummate professional and I'm looking forward to interacting with him soon.

Once again Edie, I'm grateful we met. Thanks for pulling me out to dance.

Thomas Guerrero - Santo Rico Dance Co.

P.S. I must also mention how impressed I am with how you juggle between dancing so well on both 1 and 2.
